We started our day at 07.00 hours as usual on location at s'Albufera Reserve, the power station entrance track.
Great Reed Warblers, 10 +, heard constantly, very brief sightings
Great crested grebe,
Marsh Harrier, 2
11.30 hours, change of location, we head for Formenter, back up the mountain road, this time not going as far as the lighthouse. We miss out some view points, people and cars, but stop first at a refuge / small farm, orchard surrounded by the usual stone wall, gives excellent views of must be recent arrival migrants.
We move on to a small parking place, within a mile view of the lighthouse peninsular, 400 feet cliffs, (that's a guess estimate), we go to our favoured positions, absolutely excellent place
Eleonora's Falcon, 5+
17.00 hours, back now at Albufreta, again the light is perfect.
I go for a look first at the Kentish Plover on the shoreline, again with 1 Sanderling
Osprey, 2, 1 very close, I miss the photo
Then I moved back to the same position as yesterday and waited
Sun is getting low,
Bee-eater, 15, flew over
a move to near water gives another photo opportunity of a Black-winged Stilt, (probably 1 of 100+ seen on this trip
Ruddy Shellduck, 2, distant but good view
Shag, is added to the list
21.00 hours, seeing the Scops Owls and listening to Stone-curlew and catch up chat with the holiday birders.
Today I added to my seen list
