Saturday 11th, February, 09.00 hours, I met up with Richard Bonser at Terminal 3 London Heathrow for a direct flight to St. John's International Airport, Newfoundland, c5 hour flight, with a 3 and a half hour time difference, we picked up hire car, into cold weather clothing, out of the airport, arriving at Quidi Vidi Lake by 14.30 hours.

Superb light and 30+ Kumlien's Gull in your face ! !

I spent the afternoon photographing the Kumlien's ! ! !

We set off on foot for Quidi Vidi Lake, brilliant day with Glaucous Gulls( c25 seen) and American Herring Gull, for snow scenes !








We packed in about 15.00 hours, nothing more to be gained under now rather extreme conditions, headed back to the hotel ! ! !



15.30 hours, I went out for a walk, the streets was deserted, no people, no cars, silent
except the passing snow ploughs !

and we are going out for the day ! !

We packed in at c15.00 hours and headed back to the hotel.

Superb fish and chips in hotel restaurant, leisurely drive to airport,
''all luck is on our side'', as it had been throughout the full trip,
Our flight departs on time 00.30 to get us home for 09.00 Thursday morning.
