Great Black-backed Gull, JP281

Herring Gull, adult winter,  TU3.7

Lesser Black-backed Gull, 1st winter

Lot's of Gulls,
Mick found a Yellow-legged Gull, 1st winter, (to brief and to many Gulls for me to get on) !

We could see a distant DW in his car, spending a lot of time studying the roost
from the road just inside the barrier !
He had just called somebody back to join him, in the rain ? ?  ? ? ) AA
This caught Mick's attention ?

Curiosity made us join DW who had found a Caspian Gull 3rd winter and an ''unidentified Gull''.

Later identified by MS as Audouin's Gull, 2nd winter.

Audouin's Gull, 2nd winter with Caspian Gull, 3rd winter.

Caspian Gull, 3rd winter

  1. A very decent bird, let's hope it hangs around for a while.

  2. Gulls in their many forms are a real challenge - we have life a little easier (or less interesting!) here - we only really have three species in Australia and thats about it on the gull front!
