Tavira and Fuseta, Algarve, Portugal, 19/3/2012

Weather, blue sky and sunshine, super day !

Starting around 11.00 hours, I spent a couple of hours at Tavira saltpans

Black-winged Stilt
Redshank
Greenshank

Most birds fairly distant, so after a quick look round I settled down to watch a small patch, that looked good for a photo opportunity.

Within minutes it started, 1st, 2 Ringed Plover flew in, then a Dunlin, followed by 2 Kentish Plover

About 14.00 hours I moved on to Fuseta, some 10 miles away.
I had lunch and coffee in Fuseta, then a last walk along the harbour area towards the beach.
I only had an hour before having to go back to Faro to catch the evening flight home to Gatwick.

A Lesser Black-backed Gull posed for a photo, a Tern caught my eye, it dived, completely submerged, caught a small fish then flew up past me ! !
