Algarve, Portugal, Thursday 15th September,2011

Day 5.

The day started near Azinhal, with the intention to explore areas southwards to end up at Castro Marim.

Today is overcast, low cloud

We made hard work today, sort of got lost a bit, and birds were hard to get close to, we ended up on a track through wood and scrub that did not lead to reed bed which we were looking for, however this gave us a lot of new birds for our Portugal trip list. We saw

Hard work, no photos and still overcast, cloudy.

We worked our way down to Castro Marim, a big reserve with 3 entrances to separate short walks, we only went into one entrance, everything very distant, we saw

Noon, still grey sky, we decided to return to Quinto de Lago, where we new we would be closer to birds in order to take some photos

Day 4.                  9 species seen, 7 new species for me to add to my European list.

Day 5.                11 species seen, 2 new species for me to add to my European list.
