Farne Islands, Northumberland, 3/6/2012

Day 2 in Northumberland.

06.30 hours we started our day on the cliffs just south of the harbour. No breakfast, no tea ! Nothing !

The weather looks good, decent light, little wind, the sea looks 'gentle swell', high hopes to get out to the Farne Islands today ! !

09.00 hours, back on the harbour we find out we are going to get out to both Islands today, 09.30 hours hopefully. No time for breakfast or tea !

10.30 hours we land on Staple Island,

12.30 hours, back to the boat for the crossing to Inner Farne landing at 13.30 hours !

Staple Island has no Terns nesting on it. Inner Farne is for the Terns plus all other sea birds.

Leaving the island at 16.30 hours, we are back in the harbour at 17.00 hours.

Starving !    Dressed Crab and chips, cup of tea, same place as yesterday, quick and good ! 

The light is perfect, better than yesterday, so back for another look at the Eiderduck.

It's 19.00 hours, my day is over !

I make my way back towards the harbour area, a quick scan of the rock pools, ! ! !

Who is that crazy dude hiding out there ? ?     waiting for a wing flap ? ?     He never gives up ! !

That was some crazy day !!   Same again is hoped for tomorrow !
